AG’s office touts win in concealed-handgun case – Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman is hailing a “major court victory” in defense of New York’s requirement that anyone wishing to carry a concealed handgun in public must obtain a special license to do so.  The decision was handed down in the case of Kachalsky, et al. v. Cacace, et al by a federal judge in the Southern District of New York, who rejected the plaintiffs’ challenge to the state’s handgun licensing statute. The AG’s office said the decision essentially states that individuals don’t have a constitutional right to carry a gun in public.
